Oh Boy! Oatmeal Cake

1 c. quick oatmeal

1 ½ c. boiling water

1 cube butter

1 c. brown sugar

1 c. white sugar

2 eggs

1 ½ c. flour

½ t. cinnamon

1 t. soda

½ t. salt

Soak oatmeal in boiling water while preparing the rest of ingredients.  Cream butter with sugars until fluffy.  Add beaten eggs, then flour and seasonings.  Add oatmeal.  Bake 35 min. @ 350.  Very moist.

Icing:

1 cube butter

¼ c. evaporated milk

¾ c. brown sugar

1 t. vanilla

½ cup chopped nuts

1 c. coconut

Bring to boil the butter, sugar, and milk.  Remove from heat, add vanilla, nuts, and coconut.  Pour on hot cake.
